Hi, I'm Caleb

A math tutor from Ovingham.

About Me and My Tutoring

Helping your kid succeed in Maths

Throughout my 12-year experience as a teacher, I have had wonderful learners, and have enjoyed the experience of constantly revealing novel styles of working with a subject matter so that it is important and cool for the student I tutor.

My teaching style

The training philosophy of mine is focused on a learner: my purpose is always to establish an encouraging, enjoyable and friendly atmosphere for learning how to succeed.
I respond actively to the necessities of every single learner I tutor, forming my teaching manner so that it fully complies with their identity and capabilities.

I also feel that learners learn best while they're doing exersises connected to their education. This denotes using games, writing tasks, drawing pictures, making rhymes, presentations, and other varieties of collaboration, that makes students active and motivated regarding the theme.

I teach competently and properly, rapidly figuring out areas for maintenance, next applying elementary pattern spotting strategies (when applicable). I focus on setting up simple activities for the learner make their special perception of the situation. It is a big satisfaction to find new and interesting methods of coming up with the topic so that it is interesting and always fresh for both the student and for me.

The psychology of tutoring maths

With the help of patience, humour, and encouragement, I permanently strive to teach my students that they are capable of much more than they think.
I think that my desire to switch teaching methods according to the goals of students, subject matter, and student demographics are all critical for me to be excellent as a mentor.
My teaching is based on the trust that the only way to uncover mathematics is to do maths. Though the process of reading proofs and examples in textbooks and from lecture notes is of value, the real understanding comes through solving mathematical problems, either theoretical, computational, or both.
I have also noticed that creating tasks that have a direct relation to the learner's own life can ease their learning the material and understanding its application.
